About us

Mission

The mission of Association Seven is to contribute to the cultural, emotional and spiritual growth of the person through culture and art. The principles we follow are: dialogue, tolerance, imagination, access to culture, responsibility, education, positivism. With the activities we implement, we strive to support the cultural exchange in the field of cinema by creating opportunities for the development of local professional and amateur audiences, supporting the creative growth of young authors and implementing projects related to film education in formal and informal environments. The organization works to enrich the cultural life of the capital.


History

The non-profit Association Seven is a Bulgarian non-governmental organization in public benefit, established in 2007 and based in Sofia. The main activities of Seven are in the field of art, culture, education, social issues, media and communications. The association participates in local and international partnership programs and projects, organizes seminars, competitions, festivals, workshops and creative initiatives.

Association Seven is a member of:

NISI MASA – the European network of young cinema, founded in 2001 and present in 26 countries. NISI MASA is the organizer of the professional program for short film projects European Short Pitch, the film festival magazine Nisimazine and a number of discussions and practical cinema initiatives for young people.

ECFA – the European Children’s Film Association. Founded in 1988, ECFA is the organization for all who are interested in high quality films for children and young people: directors, producers, distributors, television programmers, festival organizers, film educators and others. ECFA has nearly 150 members – companies and organizations from 41 different countries.

Екип

Elena Georgieva

President

Elena is founder of Association Seven and its main engine. Over the years she has worked for a number of cultural organizations: the Cervantes Institute-Sofia, Fortissimo Family, Bulgarian Book Association, the Northern Lights Film Panorama and So Independent film festival, as well as the European association of film enthusiasts NISI MASA. As a producer she collaborates with some of the most prominent authors in contemporary Bulgarian cinema and the film companies KLAS Film, Screening Emotions, Gorilla Film, Abraxas Film, Argo Film and Chouchkov Brothers.

Danny Kotseva

Project coordinator

Danny collaborates with association Seven for the initiative Bulgarian Film Society as a project coordinator for the city of Pazardzhik and in 2015-2016 participated in the creation of film clubs for children and adults. At the local level, she has implemented a number of art projects, including film education programs in local schools. She is the organizer of several animation workshops for children and is involved in projects related to cinema, theater and non-formal education.

Petya Slavova

Film expert and PR

Petya graduated in Film Studies at the National Academy of Theater and Film Arts Krastyo Sarafov. She writes film reviews and interviews for a number of publications, including Kino magazine, Lik magazine, Kultura newspaper, Cult.bg. As a student she is a weekly guest commentator for film events and festivals in the program Artefir of Bulgarian National Radio. Petya participates in many film-related projects and is part of the team of several film forums, including One World Documentary Film Festival and the (Im)Possible Education Film Festival. For a number of years already she has been an editor in the Culture department of the electronic edition Dnes.bg.

Yana Mosholova

Project coordinator

Yana studied at Boncho Urumov acting school at Slavyanska Beseda cultural center, and later graduated in Acting at New Bulgarian University.  She was part of the theater productions Bit, directed by Vazkresia Viharova, Roberto Zouco, directed by Asen Blatechki, The Ideal Woman, directed by Milena Stanojevic, Come, lie down on me directed by Snezhina Petrova based on poems by Silvia Choleva. From 2003 to 2010 she was an active member of the European Film Association NISI MASA and was the organizer for Bulgaria of its international competition for a short film screnplays. Yana is one of the founders of Association Seven .
