Sofia International Mini Kids’ Film Festival

Sofia International Mini Kid’s Film Festival has been held annually since 2018. It is the only festival of its kind in the capital of Bulgaria. It introduces children to the language of cinema in an interesting and fun way. Its mission is to enrich the visual culture of the youngest viewers and to make them familiar with classical and contemporary film characters, stories and aesthetics. The festival has several competition sections, and the prizes are awarded by a children’s and professional jury. The program consists of screenings of films from Bulgaria and around the world, film workshops, games and exhibitions that provoke the cognitive and creative energy of the young participants. Part of the program is the traditional creative workshop for kids Poetry and Animation, dedicated to practical film education, in which children create animated films based on the poems of prominent authors. The festival is part of the Calendar of Cultural Events of Sofia Municipality.
